Posted By: User Picture..Sometimes I want to talk to someone, but I feel like I'm bothering them via instant message if all I have to say is "hi". If I need to send someone an IM to give them information, then it's no problem. I also feel weird about wanting to talk to someone. My buddy lists eventually dwindle down to only people who initiate conversations.

I got attacked by ants yesterday when I didn't realize I was standing in an ant hill. I got about 10 bites, but one of them is about the size of half of a golf ball. Of course, the ants were all over my leg, but the giant bite is on a visible area of my arm.

When ever my nails grow just a little, bit, it gets hard to type. I normally bite my nails off pretty low, so they don't have to grow too much to be too long for me. It's when the nail touches the keys before my fingertips that it becomes bothersome.

Well I dunno about how cool I'd be to talk to but I'm always around if you wanna chat about anything.Never turn down a good conversation but then again I like to talk a lot lol.

I did something like that once! I stepped into a fire ant hill while wearing sandles & my foot got attacked so bad that it was literally numb after it happened.

I also know about the nail biting thing,I do it too lol that's why I wear nail polish to try & stop that. My mom always complains at me when she sees me doing it.

Thanks. I don't mean it as in "I need to talk to someone about something", but rather sometimes I'm just in the mood to talk to a specific person, and I feel like I'm bothering them with my smalltalk.

I wish my bites were numb. Right now they're itching and I've scratched so hard that they're bleeding.

When I tried the clear nail polish thing, I still bit threw it. A little paint ingestion never hurt anyone.

Does Rogaine actually work? I'd like to bypass this period of time where my hair is too long to look right, but too short to style in any way. I want it to be back at my shoulders by Monday.

How do you take text in a linedit and move it to a listview in qt4?

I realized this morning that, totally by accident, I've acquired the equipment required to record myself playing guitar in a way that doesn't involve putting a microphone in front of my amp.

"Sexist men deserve to be treated with disdain, just like racists, ageists, classists, homophobes, and any other bigots..."

Angela Davis-Judy: FYI I thought it an interesting statement above that you wrote:

"Sexist men deserve to be treated with disdain, just like racists, ageists, classists, homophobes, and any other bigots..."

So just for sake of satisfying my own curiosity I wiki'ed the age old term to find this:

"A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own or intolerant of people of different political views, ethnicity, race, class, religion, profession, sexuality or gender." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigot_%28disambiguation%29

and also Bigotry from Wiki as

"Bigotry is the state of mind of a bigot, defined by Merriam-Webster as "a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance".[1] Bigotry may be based on real or perceived characteristics, including age, disability, dissension from popular opinions, economic status, ethnicity, gender identity, language, nationality, personal habits, political alignment, race, region, religious or spiritual belief, sex, species, or sexual orientation. Bigotry is sometimes developed into an ideology or world view."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigotry

So I am not sure what you think a bigot is, but you do sound very intolerant of people who you don't agree with. Does that mean bigotry is ok in some cases?

"I'm not a racist, I'm a bigot, there's a difference." -Jim Jeffries.

I think bigot is used in the wrong way, most of the time. If a person holds another person in lower regard (that is intolerance) upon learning one of the things listed above, then they're a bigot. By that definition, most people are. I would almost consider it a moral. I know I'm so morally opposed to some things (generally put, I'm morally opposed to hatred of anything someone's born with, like race or sex), that I won't associate myself with people who hold those views. Would you be friends with a nazi? No? That is bigotry, as far as I see the definition, and it's okay. The nazi has, I think, a moral obligation not to befriend the person who is staunchly anti-nazi.

I'm as dumb as the day is long, so, please, nobody take anything I say with anything more than a grain of salt.

I'm a libertarian nut. I firmly believe that my rights end where yours begin. That said, this really bothers me. I don't want the government to mandate vaccinations. But, if you walked around in public spraying an aerosol can full of measles, I think that's a crime, because I think I have a right to reasonably expect not to be put in significant danger whilst doing groceries in public, as does everyone. I have a right not to be shot, and if you shoot me, you should be prosecuted. I have a right not to be punched in the head, and if you punch me in the head, you should be prosecuted. I have a right not to be infected with an easily preventable disease due to your whacko belief system, and if I am, you should be prosecuted.

My personal beliefs say that I'm allowed to throw feces at anyone wearing white after St. Patrick's day (or however that goes), so when you end up with a face full of feces, don't oppress me.

I definitely understand your point. I also would not be friends with a nazi, but I am friends with communists even though I don't wanna be one. lol I don't go around hating people based on political ideas or religious ideas in general. I think it is good to have friends with a wide variety of thoughts and beliefs.

I stopped vaccinating my son after 12 months due to a bad reaction, but I also don't send him to public school. It's not based on any whacko religious reason or anything, it is based on lack of trust of pharmaceutical companies and doctors. If there are outbreaks it should be among those who chose not to vaccinate and those who did vaccinate are supposed to be ok right? I have read articles about the whooping cough vaccine and in those children who were vaccinated were some how contracting the cough which doesn't make much sense to me.

If you're the only one vaccinated in a room full of people with whooping cough, then you're not totally immune.

Then it seems my reasoning of the negative reaction was valid and somewhat acceptable according to this:

"Since only a small fraction of the population (or herd) can be left unvaccinated for this method to be effective, it is considered best left for those who cannot safely receive vaccines because of a medical condition such as an immune disorder or for organ transplant recipients."

However, the article I read about the whooping cough did not specify the percentage of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated children, it simply stated that vaccinated children were contracting the virus due to the increase in parents who choose not to vaccinate. It would still seem that at 25% unvaccinated kids vs. 75% vaccinated that the vaccines should still be fairly effective.

That is a deep subject B. Thank goodness that I didn't know all the things those vaccinations could do to children when my son was young. My son was a teenager when I saw for the first time a child that was a victim of those vaccinations. We got to know a couple who had a teenage son that was mentally and physically about a year old. Couldn't walk or communicate, so sad. If I had of known this when my child was young, it would have made giving him those vaccinations a very hard decision. I don't know which side is right. I understand the risk is minimal....unless your child happens to be one of the ones in a vegetative state...then there is nothing minimal about it. One of life's tough decisions.
