brandon i didn't know about sevenbeasts.com. it's on my favorites right now. i had some skem9 questions too, but i see most of them have been answered here in this forum.

i do have one more though...can someone give the code for centering your friends' comments on your profile?

Yeah, I just started it a few months ago. :)

Code:
.37182{this part is to center your friends, so its in proportion to the comments}
.UProSide{width:780px;}
.UProSide div{position:relative; left:20%;}
.UProSide table{position:relative; left:30%;}

.37182{this is the part that centers the comments}
.Comments{width:780px;}
.commentsPeps{width:720px;}
.commentMess{width:640px !important;}

Thanks Brandon. Congratulations on the new site!

Well, the centering friends code worked. (I was wondering how to do this too! So glad you put it here).

But the centering comments code I couldn't get to work. I wasn't sure what to take out, so I did some playing around & came up with this (using the numbers you gave):

SKEM9 DEFAULT CODING:
.NOTES{ right side where the comments are at }
.Comments {float:right; width:450px;margin-bottom:0px;}
.NOTES{ fnopeck IE yo, I swear Ima knock it out of of these days haha }
* html .Comments {margin-right:3px;}
.commentsPeps {margin:0px 20px 3px 20px; width:390px; font-style:bold; color:# text color for comment box; border:3px outset # size, type and color of border around comment box; padding:5px; background:url( http://www.skem9.com/images/blue_site_theme/foot_bg.gif);}
.commentsPeps span.comName {display:block; text-indent:15px;background:url(" background url for comment title "); padding:5px 0px; font-style:bold;color:#text color for comment title;border:2px outset # size, type and color of border around comment title;}
.commentsPeps .commentMess {float:center; width:310px;}
.commentsPeps .comImg img {width:60px;}
.commentsPeps .comImg {float:left;}

MY REVISED CODING:
.NOTES{ right side where the comments are at }
.Comments {float:center; width:780px;margin-bottom:0px;}
.NOTES{ fnopeck IE yo, I swear Ima knock it out of of these days haha }
* html .Comments {margin-right:3px;}
.commentsPeps {margin:0px 20px 3px 20px; width:640px; border:1px inset #525252; padding:5px; background:url(http://www.skem9.com/images/blue_site_theme/foot_bg.gif) repeat-x top #000;}
.commentsPeps span.comName {display:block; text-indent:15px; background:#242424; padding:5px 0px;}
.commentsPeps .commentMess {width:640px;}
.commentsPeps .comImg img {width:60px;}
.commentsPeps .comImg {float:left;}

This replaces the "View Gallery" link with an image. Colors might need adjusting, but I think the default height/width is okay.

Code:.37182{hide the links, and put the image in; color:#000; needs to be the same as background:#000;}
.proPic a{display:block; letter-spacing:300px; color:#000; background:#000 url(http://www.skem9.com/a.homes/pics/users/thumbs/th_/2008/05/09/37182/S_image1.png);}
.proPic a:hover{text-decoration:none;}

.37182{this is so the links dont spill onto the rest of the page}
.proPic{overflow:hidden;}

.proQuote {background:transparent;line-height:30px;margin-top:70px;
_margin-top:60px;text-indent:5px;font-style:italic;}

Use position:; instead of margin:;, browsers are kinda picky with margins.

.proQuote{position:relative; top:70px;}

The screen just say that it is uploading....for like 20 minutes...is this normal? I have a superfast internet connection...??? I am new to this so maybe I am just being impatient. All my layouts work on my myspace but I have like 6 I want to upload but they never seem to upload.....please help me!!! [cry]

hey all. i wanted to edit the color of all the links on the pg. i see this part of the coding:

a, a:visited {color:#default text color ; text-decoration:none;}
a:hover {color:#default hover text color; text-decoration:underline;}
table, td, div, p, a {font-family:tahoma, verdana, "sans-serfi"; font-size:10pt;}

but i can't find where you can change the color of the links if it doesn't have to do with being visited or hovered over. anyone know?

a, a:visited selects all the links, a:hover selects the hovered links.

The a:visited part is so that the styles will still apply if the link has been clicked.

It's hard to tell why it does that sense the codes are all run together.

Take out anything with the "a" selector until the links are blue, then style the "a, a:visited{}" section.

ok thanks. yeah...i've been havin' problems with my coding every now & then. when you tell it to do something & it ignores what you tell it. i know it always has something to do with something either b4 it or after it.

thanks again.

What is the coding to have a section of your profile scroll. The section I want scrolled is there area where all the main stuff about us goes (for skem of course [big_wink]) .. would anyone happen to know that?

to make a section scroll add height:###px; overflow:auto; inbetween the { } symbols of the area you

want to have scroll. Change the ## signs to desired height.
