This tut will show you how to make a seamless tile for backgrounds, and has been written using PSP Photo X2 - but can be used for PSP versions 8 upwards. [Not sure about earlier versions].
Seamless Tiles for Backgrounds

Making seamless tiles to use as web backgrounds, layout backgrounds etc, in Paintshop Pro is amazingly easy. We will make a background tile using this image.

User Picture..

1. Open the graphic and make a duplicate copy (Shift D). You can now close the original graphic.

2. Go to Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling.

User Picture..

3. A window will open up - if you check the section marked Show Tiling Preview another smaller window will open up.

The settings shown above, and those shown in the second example at the end of this tutorial, are the settings I use most of the time (depends on the image I'm using). To me these two settings give a better overall effect. [Note: if you haven't used seamless tiling before it will show the default settings].

4. If you like what the preview image is showing click OK and SAVE your tile.

This is what my tile looks like used as a background.

This is what it would have looked like if I hadn't converted the image into a seamless tile.

It is a good idea to make sure that the Tiling Preview is checked, because you can easily see how the tile looks each time you change the settings, and you can get a good idea what the overall effect will look like. Here are a few examples - look at the settings for each one.

I've searched & searched for help using my pspx12 but mostly peeps seem to be stuck with psp7 (in the groups I've joined anyhow) At last I have found someone that explains it all so well. Makes learning what seemed the impossible, a doddle.
Thankyou so much for this tut. Helped me to have what I've tried to do for weeks in a couple of minutes. Please keep em coming.

I love this tut! But I have PSE (Photoshop Elements) 4.0. So I don't have the "seamless tile" option.

I have found PSE tutorials for using offset, but I like the option you show here where you have checked off:
--tiling method(corner)
--direction(bidirectional)

I really wanna do it in this style! Anyone have a tut to do this for PSE?
