A guide to making alien-ish buttons in Photoshop.

New Document


File>> new>> 145px X 25px. Fill with black.

Side-glow


Make a new layer titled "Glow".
Create a selection 10px wide, 25px in height, and set the feather to 1px.
filter>> render>> fibers. Keep the default settings.

Layer>> layer style. and apply these settings::.
Anything green: 33cc00

Left side


Create a new layer, of course. Select the left side where the green thingy isn't and fill with black.
layer>> layer style and use these:

Make it shiny


New layer. Select all.
Select>> transform selection and change it so it's about 13px in height.
Now fill it with white and set the fill to 18%.

Text


I used a font called Simply Mono. You can find it at dafont.com
I moved the text layer under the Shine layer just because I thought it looked better.
