PSP: NAME TAG WITH GLITTER BORDER
Paint Shop Pro Image Tutorials | Submited Mar 5, 2008
Written by:
This tutorial has been written using PSP Photo X2 - but can be used for most earlier versions of PSP (from version 6 and upwards) and Animation Shop 3. [I do not know how to use any other animation programme].
Simple Name Tag with glitter border
1. Open up a new image sized 100 x 20.
Tip: Because it is a small image - zoom in so you can see what you are doing.
2a. If you want to add some kind of small icon type image, then make sure you add it now
2b. Now add your text.
3. Then go -
Selections > Select All Image should now have the moving lines surrounding it
3. To add the border go -
Selections > Modify > Select Selection Borders
4. Choose your settings. The border should be set for inside and I've choosen a width of 1.
5. Now using the flood fill tool color the inside of the border. Image now looks like this.
6. Now, without defloating the selection, duplicate your image twice. Your layers should now look like this.
7a. By clicking on the eye icon deactivate the top and middle layer, activate the bottom layer add your noise.
7b. By clicking on the eye icon deactivate the bottom and top layer, activate the middle layer and add your noise.
7c. By clicking on the eye icon deactivate the bottom and middle layer, activate the top layer and add your noise.
[Note: If you do not know how to add noise (glitter) then check out this tutorial http://www.skem9.com/tutorials/37/AddingGlittertoImages.html from around step 5 onwards]
8. Now make all the layers active so that the eye icon is clearly visible with no red cross/circle showing.
9.
SAVE your image. The file extension you use depends on the version of PSP you are using, so ....
for people using PSP8 you must save the file using this extension (I think this extension works for PSP 9 too).
for people using Photo X2 (and I think versions 10 and 11 too) you must save the file using this extension
*************
10. Open up Animation Shop and open up the image you have just saved.
11. To view the animation click on the animation icon

found at the top of the workspace screen.
12. If you like the animation SAVE using the wizard if you want. Remembering to save as a
GIF file extension, otherwise the animation will not work.
13. If you do not like the speed and want to change it, using the keyboard Ctrl-A / Alt-Enter - this screen will come up

change the display time and click ok. View the animation again and if okay - SAVE.
Here is my finished animated name tag.
Hi - sorry for the late reply - really busy at the moment and I rarely find anytime to get here.
So that I can try and help, can you maybe let me see a screen shot of the steps you do, and a screen shot of the error message, I can then try and figure out what the problem is. Will try and answer as soon as I can.
