Cutting Images from Background (part 3)

Removing images from original background.
This tut has been written using PSP 8 - but can be used for all later versions of PSP.
If you want to cut an image out from a plain white or plain black background, this is even simplier.
1. Open up your image and take a copy > Ctrl-C Then you can minimise or close down your original image.
2a. On your selections tools choose the "magic wand tool"

b. I have chosen the following settings.
[Tip: Because you are taking an image from a black or white background, always select Match Mode : RGB Value. Feather : this setting is entirely dependent on the size of the white or black are you wish to get select. The higher the value, the more that will get selected].
3. Move over to your image - zoom if necessary - single left click anywhere in the background. This should now have the marquee (moving lines) around it. Example:
4. To remove the image from the background do this .. Selection > Invert

. Your main image should now have the marquee (moving lines) around it. Example:
5. Now copy the image > Ctrl-C and then paste it >Ctrl-L onto the background you want. Example:
To position the image etc, follow steps 5 through to 7 in part 1.
