Fade Image into Background

This tut has been written using PSP Photo X2 - but can be used for most earlier versions of PSP (from version 6 and upwards)
1. Open up (or make) your background.
2. Cut out the image (follow earlier tuts) you want to fade into the background.
3. Activate your main background and go ... Layers > New Raster Layer
4. In the pop up menu accept all setting and click ok.
5. Your "Layer" section should now look like this.

[If you cannot see the layer tools click F8].
6. Activate the image you have cut out and using the keyboard take a copy ... Ctrl-C.
7. On your main background image activate the top layer (raster 1) and then using the keyboard go paste the cut out image as "paste as new selection" ... Ctrl-E.
8. Your layer section should now look like this.
and your background should now look like this
9. Using the keyboard deselect ... ctrl-d.
10. Your layer section should now look like this.
11. Make sure that the top layer (raster 1) is active, click on the blend mode. A drop down menu will appear.
12. Choose one of the blends. I have choosen Luminance (Legacy). You can see that my image colour of The Charmed Ones has now changed from normal to the colour of my background.
13. Make sure that the top layer (raster 1) is active, click on the Opacity (0-100%) mode.
14. With the left hand side of the mouse slide the arrow down until you get the opacity you are looking for.
15. If you are happy merge all the layers down ... Layers > Merge > Merge (all flatten)
16. SAVE.
This is the finished image.
