This is a old PA Dutch Recipe. They use to make it at all the holidays.
8 slices bacon, cut in small pieces
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/4 cup water
1/2 cup cider vinegar

1. Fry bacon until crisp, set aside
2. Mix dry ingredients
3. Gradually add vinegar and water
4. Pour mixture over fired bacon
5. Cook until mixture thickens, stir constantly

You can use this on lettuce, dandelion, endive and cabbage.
If it is thicker then what you like you can add more water.
Can be kept in refrigerator and used the next day.
