Okay this is a little background history on the xmen character of Jean Grey summers better known as the phoenix and dark phoenix.i hope you all enjoy reading all about her.(all information is care of the jean grey rise above website)
Name: Jean Grey
Codename: Phoenix,Marvel Girl[no longer in use]
Other nicknames: Jeannie, Redd, ms psyche, dark phoenix
Age:29
Place of Birth:Annadale-on-Hudson, New York
Eye color:[movieverse]Brown [comicverse green]
Hair color:Scarlet [red]
Height:[movieverse]5'11"
Weight:125 lbs
Identity: public.
General Appearance: Jean Grey is 55% sophistication. She opts for a professionalist look when she's out and about. A sleek turtleneck short sleeved sweater in a shade of inky black and an onyx skirt with open-toed heels would be one of her choice outfits. The dark colors make her cascading crimson hair stand out even moreso than it does already. Pulling her long hair back into a ponytail or banana clipping it would further give her an immaculate appearance. If the occasion calls for it, she'll even wear her slim-framed glasses. When she's playing doctor, the white labcoat makes anything she's wearing look that much more professional.
Jean is 30% vixen. She wouldn't hesitate to wear something more...More...Dangerous, let's call it. After all, what woman wouldn't want to flaunt what she's got? Her long, slim legs make it easy for her to throw on a short skirt and her modelesque physique lets her wear a no-sleeved silk V-neck. Throw on the heels for a little wiggle in the hips, toussle the flowing red locks, give the tawny eyes a smokey lining and she's a bombshell.
Jean is 15% casual. What person on this planet doesn't like to bum around once in a while? Baggy sweats and a camisole are to die for on a day when she wants to lay low. She doesn't look half bad in them, either. If you're lucky, you might just catch her in her nightgown, because everybody has those days where they refuse to change out of sleepwear.

Personality In-Depth: Jean's personality is hard to put a finger on, usually because she takes the reserved route. She's on the quieter side, due to the fact that she normally has a lot of things going on in her mind. She's got an enormous heart, and there's always enough space for another to fit in. She cares for everyone and everything she's come to know. She was known to be quite the gentle one, which made her a good candidate for the school's doctor...Aside from her knowledge in the medical field, of course.
She has very strong in her beliefs and confident in that she'll openly argue with her team over decisions to make for a mission. She's also known for arguing with fellow faculty members over a students' punishment. She has a way with her words, and can, most of the time, get others to see eye to eye with her.
Those who have come to know her well, particularly the founding X-Team, know how loose and talkative she can be behind closed doors. Infront of her closest friends, primarily Ororo Munroe, she wasn't afraid to act like an imbecile or make a sharp, witty comment.
When it came down to Phoenix, there was an obvious personality change. She was more naive and reckless, not unlike a child, and maybe even a little arrogant. She knew what kind of power she possessed and will used it as often as she liked. There was a wild air about her overall. She vehemently disliked being suppressed and controlled, and would have annihilated the suppressor if needed. Hell, she may annihilated the suppressor even if she didn't have to. One word that best describes the Phoenix: VOLATILE.
Now, Jean is a solid combination of both personalities. She still has her strong beliefs, and is in no way holding her tongue, even when it comes to things beyond the X-Team and the students. Those who try to hurt her friends or family WILL get burnt...Or maybe even completely disposed of with no trace of their existance left behind. She's not so easily agitated, and it's much more difficult to get her heated up. She still won't stand for suppression, but her reactions aren't radical unless she's cornered or pushed over the edge. She's pretty much the Phoenix who has grown up and learned how to play nice.
[Mutation]
Type of Mutation(s): telepathy, telekinesis
Details: Telepathy-- Jean Grey has one of the most powerful telepathic mutations on Earth. She can communicate with others telepathically, read the thoughts of others, influence decisions, control minds, manipulate memories, cast her mind into the astral plane, or use "mental bolts" capable of knocking out or turning someone brain-dead. She can also communicate with smarter animals such as cats, dogs, dolphins.
Telekinesis-- No other mutant has the complex telekinetic ability that Jean does. She can manipulate things in Earth's orbit and is capable of manipulate hundred of objects simultaneously. She can levitate herself and other people. She can also use her telekinesis to form a shield around herself and others, and in turn can release force blasts.
As Phoenix-- The Phoenix's powers give Jean's already stunning powers a boost. She can control and manipulate things at the molecular level, rearrange things at the subatomic level, and fly unaided through space. Since the Phoenix is the sum of all life force she can revive, absorb, re-channel, and preserve any type of life form, including herself.
Extra information from Marvel Database Project:
-Telepathic Cloak: Can mask her presence from being detected by others. Her abilities can at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well.
-Psionic Shield: Ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others minds.
-Telepathic Camouflage: Ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her. Can telepathically disguise herself, making her appearance to those around her quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).
-Psychic Shadow: Ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her. Can telepathically disguise herself, making her appearance that of a shadow. Marvel Girl has developed a golden Phoenix emblem energy signature, which appears over her right eye whenever she uses her powers.
-Mind Control: Ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration.
-Mind Possession: Ability to possess the mind of another, and use that beings body as her own.
-Mind Alteration: Ability to alter the minds of others by force of will, changing their personality partially or entirely.
-Telepathic Illusions: Ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.

-Astral Projection: Can project her astral form from her body onto astral planes or the physical planes. In the physical plane she can travel in astral form over vast distances. In the astral plane, she can mentally create psionic objects and manipulate the aspects of her environment. She can communicate with others astrally through her own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others.
-Mind Transferal: Able to transfer both her mind and powers into other host bodies if her own physical body could be somehow killed.
-Mental Detection: Can sense the presence of another superhuman mutant within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
-Psionic Firebird: Ability to manifest her telepathy as a psionic firebird; whose claws could inflict both physical and mental damage.
-Neural Jumpstart: Ability to increase the speed of neural signals in the brain, she could increase another mutants powers to incredible levels, but the effect was only temporary.
-Induce Pain: Can also induce mental pain merely by touching the brow of her victim.
-Heal Trauma: The ability to erase a person’s memories and to heal mental trauma through “psychic surgery,” the power to stimulate or deaden the pain and pleasure centers in a persons brain, to subtly brainwash susceptible minds and persuade them to do her bidding.
-Cloak Mind: Ability to rearrange the “mental engrams” of mutants so their distinctive mutant though patterns cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises or by other telepaths.
-Mental Sedating: Can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them.
-Dilate Power: Ability to place “psychic inhibitors” in the minds of mutant adversaries to prevent them from using their powers.
-Mind Link: Ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

Important Background: Jean Grey is the younger daughter of Professor John Grey of the History Department of Bard College in Annandale-on Hudson, New York, and his wife Elaine. When Jean was ten years old, she was playing with her best friend Annie Richardson when Annie was hit by an automobile. The emotion that Jean felt as she held her dying friend awakened her own latent telepathic powers, and she thus experienced Annie's own emotions as she died. This traumatic occurrence left Jean in a withdrawn and deeply depressed state. Moreover, Jean discovered that she could not control her newly awakened telepathic abilities, and had to isolate herself from other people to keep hold of her sanity.
Finally, when Jean was eleven, a psychiatrist recommended to her parents that they consult a colleague of his, Professor Charles Xavier, who was secretly a mutant with telepathic abilities . Xavier explained to Jean, but not to her parents, that she was a mutant, and he treated her for several years. During this time he erected psychic shields in Jean's mind so that she would not be able to use her telepathic abilities until she had achieved the maturity necessary for dealing with them. Simultaneously, he taught her how to levitate and manipulate objects through psionic force. When Xavier judged that Jean had reached a certain level of mastery of her telekinetic power, he recommended to her parents that they enroll her in his newly established School for Gifted Youngsters. Unknown to Professor and Mrs. Grey, this school served as a cover for the X-Men, a team of young superhuman mutants being trained by Xavier to combat the threats posed by other mutants who used their powers against humanity. On entering the school, Jean Grey became the fifth member to join the X-Men and took the code name of Marvel Girl.
(I credit the above two paragraphs to Wikipedia.)
Jean was thought to have died at Alkali Lake saving her fellow X-Men from flooding waters. This proved to be wrong when Scott Summers visited his beloved's watery grave. To his surprise, she was alive and well...And not a dream. Their first kiss reunited was thier last; Dark Phoenix had absorbed much of Scott's lifeforce and left him for dead. Later, Logan and Ororo Munroe find her near Alkali Lake, unconscious. They bring her back to the Institute where Professor X tried to re-establish the psychic shields he once put up. He was in vain. She ultimately ends up annihilating him.The Phoenix crossed over to the Brotherhood, under the leadership of Erik Lehnsherr. He was careful not to anger her: He saw what happened to his colleague. Thus, she wasn't bothered much by anybody and did whatever she pleased.
At Alcatraz, California, the Phoenix unleashed her true potential. Everybody and everything present was dissipated at the molecular level...Except for the Wolverine, credited to his healing factor. Reluctantly, he approached her and sank his Adamantium claws up into her chest cavity through her abdomen, knowing that would be the only way to stop the horrific destruction. She was thought to have died...Again.
Jean can now be spotted throughout New York at her various jobs or in her apartment. She has no recollection of Xavier's Institute, Alkali Lake, or the Alcatraz incident. According to her, she's always lived in her New York apartment and always sought a steady job.
[Other]
Alliance: Unaffiliated
Why/How?: She's forgotten about Xavier's and what not, and barely knows of the opposing organization, the Brotherhood.
Occupation:: Various: Waitress (night), cashier (day). Has substantial medical knowledge but insufficient records of attending medical school.
