A spoken shadow

The chill of the cool night air
flows through the trees
the rustling leaves
and the sounds of darkness calls.

The only light is the moon,
stars, and the dieing embers
of a flame long gone,
like a fading soul I use to know,
But now it fades into the darkness.

The light of the moon
reflects a trance of tranquility
which is soon disrupted
by memories of a lost romance
that ends with a blood red rose
on a grave enlightened
by a moon similar as this,

perfectly round, bright and broad
with glistening stars of its aura.
The memories flicker and flow,
slowly but surly.

Memories of long ago when I was another,
accepted by society
but a shadow just passing through,
never here or there for long.

Before I thought I was complete
but now I know
I�m just an empty shell
covered in darkness
waiting for this existence to end.

This blood runs deep
but is tainted by the shadows.
